Scars of Sin and Vivid Proof of Changed Lives

So often it seems like I am pointing out the things that are wrong, especially with Christian thought about certain issues. I also want to be able to give praise and here is a great example of where I think these people are doing the right thing. Pyromaniacs has a post about some of the people at the Changed by Grace Community Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Read the post and be uplifted. Basically a group that used to have tattoos and saw them as a cool way to express their faith, now realize that what man might think is cool matters not, but what G-d thinks is cool does and we are servants of the Most High G-d. This was after hearing a sermon about the second commandment. From the post:

Nowadays, instead of regarding the tattoos as badges of coolness and something to boast about, all of these guys see them as mere scars of sin and vivid proof of how their lives have changed.

It seems like it would be easy for these people to say that the second commandment is speaking of idol and these pictures of Jesus are OK, and Jesus would support them, etc., but instead they were willing to open their hearts and minds and allow themselves to be used by G-d.

The poster, Phil Johnson also comments:

Christ changes people; He doesn’t merely sweeten our selfish and worldly lives. He gives us new hearts.

Amen to that! We should all be open to changing every part of our lives and have them conform to G-d and not try to have G-d conform to ours.
