This week we come to the end of the month of March and the month of June will begin soon. Back in June of 1983 I first gave my life to Messiah and accepted Him in my life. I recall back then the person who was instrumental in me becoming a believer (one of whom I say has beautiful feet for he brought to me the Good News – Isaiah 52:7
) telling me after I accepted that he and his mom could tell because they could see it in my face, that I had a glow. At the time I recalling thinking, well that is nice, but it is also a biased opinion, so I took it as that. Then I went home and saw my father who was working on his car. Now my dad is a nice man, but certainly in now way a believer. While I was there speaking with him, he told me that I looked really good and asked if I had a new haircut, or a new shirt or something, because I looked really good today. I then thought, wow, here is an unbiased observer confirming the glow that I had, so I knew that it was real and that the smile on my face was evident of the love of G-d.
I was reminded of these things this week listening to this song, Smile by Kutless. The video from YouTube is just the song with a title, so it really nothing more than the song, but it gives me a way to get the song to you, so please enjoy and remember when you first came to know the L-RD and the smile and the glow that you had when the love was fresh. Grab a hold of it again. Shabbat Shalom.
Lyrics:
On a plane somewhere again
I take my place in line just like every other time
I slide into my window seat
She was sitting there
One seat over so I said “Hello, how are you today?”With my smile I could see the hope within her eyes
And I knew that something’s different todayCHORUS:
Though everything’s the same inside there’s something real
A faith which causes me to change. (But what’s different now)
A spark is gleaming in my eye like diamond stars that fill the sky
I think a smile says it all
A smile says it allThe conversation presses on
As miles pass below, she said I have to let you know
You seem so different to me
There is a joy inside
The love of God is all I know from which this could originateWith one smile I could see, the faith we share inside
And I know that something’s different todayBRIDGE:
I see what a smile can say about me
I know that words are not always what speak
Sometimes it’s not what I say
That the world around me seems to understand
