Some interesting things I found this morning. Not much in the way of commentary, but I found them all of interest.
Through a friend I discovered the series of messages from Johnson Ferry Baptist Church entitled “The Jewish People and Christianity” on the “Right From The Heart” website. I have listened to the first message thus far and thought it was very good. I look forward to hearing the rest. There was also a video interview with a Messianic Jew, one I know well, Philip Stanley Klein. Another recommended link to check out.
Then through New Covenant blog I found this eBay auction and the reason for it. I found it quite amusing, even if Rusty didn’t. The writer of the auction text also has a blog.
Finally Derek Lehman had a very interesting conversation with Tirzah about his plans to convert to Messianic Judaism. Start with Tirzah’s comment to another post, then read Derek’s response and the conversation that has ensued. Interesting stuff.
IF you need more to discuss, here are some topics (Not sure what put me in the Coffee Talk frame of mind today):
- “The radical reconstruction of the South after the Civil War was neither radical nor a reconstruction. Discuss.”
- “The Holy Roman Empire was neither holy nor Roman nor an empire. Discuss.”
- “The peanut is neither a pea nor a nut. Discuss.”
- “Ralph Fiennes is spelled neither rafe nor fines. Discuss.”
- “Duran Duran is neither a Duran nor a Duran. Discuss.”
- “Rhode Island is neither a road nor is it an island. Discuss.”
- “The Thigh Master is neither a thigh nor a master. Discuss.”
- “The Progressive Era was neither progressive nor an era. Discuss.”
- “Did Truman drop the bomb on the Japanese to end the war or to scare the hell out of the Russians? Discuss.”
